Pro Bono Lawyer Ms Cheryl Simes:
Reposting from the second original post of Kiwilaw Advocates Ltd, Ms Cheryl Simes on to our page for the NZ Public's News Feed.
More post's on our page: NZ Public still waits.....

Will the Public of NZ ever hear back from this unusual lawyer? We can't be sure. It has nearly been a year, (on our page) but even longer, when Cherie (Whatever her last name is?) began collecting money in from the tragedy in Ngaruawahia.
No Transparency of where any monies have gone too?, No record keeping? No Audits? And N.A.R.K Org, Trust, Charity or "other" is currently still not registered, after all this time. Some thing is very wrong with this issue. This is a real concern.

Just reposting from Kiwilaw Advocates Ltd dated on Friday. Do Kiwilaw Advocates Ltd, even know what they are going on about? More so, that of the "Pro Bono" Lawyer to Cherie (whatever her last name is), Ms Cheryl Simes? Never the less, we will continue to wait, as the saga continues.......interesting times ahead NZ ;)
Their message as follows....
Kiwilaw Advocates Ltd:
Well, it's the end of November, and that's when we promised you an update on NARK's finances etc.
We haven't finished going through the detailed documentation Cherie provided to us some time ago - that delay is entirely our responsibility, not Cherie's. (We've been a bit distracted with our own matters plus a sudden rush of paying work.)
Thus far we have verified that, although at one stage there were several bank accounts for NARK, funds were transferred properly from one account to another when this was all being tidied up. T-shirt orders are documented, as are all the refunds when the T-shirt project did not eventuate.
We have not found any unexplained withdrawals or payments, or any gaps in documentation.
Payments to Cherie have reimbursed her for what appear to be valid expenses incurred in NARK matters. (Cherie has also provided information about other, NARK-related expenditure by her for which she has not sought reimbursement.)
We have not yet perused the records of meetings to check that all such payments were formally approved. We shall do so. We have no reason to believe they were not.
We have also not yet checked whether there are receipts for all such reimbursements - there are a lot of receipts which we have not yet gone through. Again, we shall do so.
Not sure whether we'll get this finished before the end of the year. We want to run this through some accounting software to make it easy to cross-check and summarise, and that may have to wait until early January.
Certainly there is nothing to support the allegations made against Cherie of financial mismanagement or deception.

Must be a lot of records to go through with Cherie (Whatever her last name is?) and her Nark record keeping documents? We will continue to wait....as we have been for about 9 months now lol ;)
I believe Cherie has just given birth to a baby so that may explain the reasons for the delay in the information we requested.

Just a message from Kiwilaw Advocates Ltd for the NZ Public:
She will be taking a break for rest.

I am feeling so guilty because I haven't finished that yet, and it's entirely my responsibility, not Cherie's. We (Kiwilaw) had a setback at the end of last year when we almost negotiated a resolution with the Ministry of Justice about reinstatement as a legal-aid provider, and then the agreement fell through at the last minute. Mid January we reached agreement again and then it didn't work either. Each setback meant a drop in energy (and also the need to put more time into those issues instead of finishing off this work for you and Cherie). Finally the legal-aid provider approval is in place, and THAT has meant more distraction because of having to redo paperwork and inform clients. (You'll note that we haven't even put a notification on Facebook about it - that's a comment on the energy levels and the juggling at present). Oh yes, and the diary was thrown into chaos after a 5-minute judicial conference turned into 2 days (Judge Cocurullo does that sometimes). And I have a sudden cluster of court deadlines this week. I was going to spend tomorrow (Anniversary Day) catching up, but I've decided I need to take time for myself and so I'm not going to spend it working. (Right now, it's 11 pm and I'm about to email submissions to Wellington that were due on Friday. That's quite enough, for now.)

Hello NZ Public, we forgot add to the Kiwilaw Advocates LTD post, that we (NZ Public) respect Ms Cheryl Sim's needs her rest at this time. She has had a huge workload, and requires her much needed time-out for herself. Thank you, Admin :)
